This issue of Time Out Kids brought us out on the lake.
Kids fashion for the summer issue brought us somewhere we’ve never been, on the lake in Chicago (even though we grew up here….). It was a fun afternoon battling the waves, the oncoming rain and way too much cute.
Thanks to Erica Gannett for co-shooting and putting it together, Kevin Aeh and Martina Sheehan for the cute outfits and The Star of Chicago, for being an awesome boat. And of course, the adorable models who went out with us on their day off school.

For this Time Out Chicago 20’s inspired fashion shoot, it was the perfect background.

Chicago Works at the MCA
Lizz and Nicole photographed Molly Zuckerman-Hartung, Scott Reeder and Laura Letinsky for Time Out Chicago. The three artists will have shows with the MCA and their new Chicago Works Series. We are thrilled to have met them all and look forward to seeing what they do with the new project space.

When fashion meets art.
A new exhibit named Dimensional Lines opens at The Evanston Art Center September 11. I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Katrin Schnabl once again and to photograph Kristin Mariani of Red Shift. I’m so very curious by how both of their minds work. They are so thoughtful, academic and conceptual about their work. Both were very fun and inspiring shoots, I’m glad to have worked on this story for Time Out Chicago.

There is something kind of cool about beekeeping.
While photographing these people for a story in Time Out Chicago about urban beekeeping, I was very inspired to someday start my own hive.

Flowers and shoes!
Thanks to Melisa Jimenez of Sweet Petal for arranging the flowers and backgrounds for this Time Out story.
Melisa and I met a couple of weeks ago. She was referred to me from Macy’s where she was doing a bouquet of the day for the annual flower show. We met, talked about concepts for the story, flowers and photography. The following week, we made these photos.
You can check out her Tower of Flowers this week at Macy’s and see the article in this week’s Time Out Chicago.
